The government is keen on providing job opportunities to all citizens in both the public and private sectors and offers great support for new graduates. New graduates can train online in the skills required for interviews and can develop their educational skills through Dubai eGovernment’s eLearning courses in such fields as IT, financial management, programming and online marketing.

Finding a job
Through its eJob portal, Dubai eGovernment helps you search within the database of vacancies in Dubai government departments. You can also upload your CV and apply for a job online without the need to visit the department’s head office. Besides, the portal helps you type and save your CV.

Job-seekers can try to find a job through Mohammed Bin Rashid Est. for Young Business Leaders. The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (TANMIA) aims at creating job opportunities for citizens, reducing unemployment rates among them and upgrading their skills and productivity through full employment of national human resources. The CareerGate UAE contains tips and guidelines for job-seekers, graduates and employers, while the Emirates National Development Programme (ENDP) seeks optimum investment of national human resources by boosting the involvement of the national youth in the private sector. Ershaad and JobsforUAEnationals websites contain updated jobs for UAE citizens.

Labour, human resources and pension laws
The website of the Ministry of Labour (MOL) is the official portal that allows all UAE employees to be familiarized with their job requirements and rights. Newcomers can also have a look at the UAE labour law through the ministry’s website. All employees must have their degrees verified in accordance with the observed regulations before getting a work permit.

The employees of the Dubai government departments understand the Human Resources Law No. 27 of 2006. The General Pension& Social Security Authority provides full information on the pension laws in the UAE, while its website contains useful information on pensions and social security for citizens.

Attestation of certificates
Before seeking a job, particularly in the government sector, you must attest your academic qualifications as per the observed regulations. If you are holder of a degree from a foreign country or a university which is not licensed in the UAE, you must seek educational accreditation of your degree from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
