How do I get the Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card?
The Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card can be instantly issued at any NBAD branch.
With more than 62 branches spread across the United Arab Emirates, NBAD (The

Emirates. So you’re sure to find a branch close to you. Simply walk into any
NBAD branch, fill up the simple Prepaid Card Application, provide funds for
loading your Card and you’re ready to go.
Where can I use my Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card?
Your Dubai eGovernment Card is accepted throughout the international network of
VISA at over 24 million outlets worldwide. Use your Card just like you would
use any other credit or debit Card. Use it online to facilitate your government
department transactions on the Dubai eGovernment portal www.dubai.ae. Or use it for your point of sale purchases
here or abroad. You can also use it to withdraw cash from any ATM that features
the Visa logo.
How does my Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card work?
Because it is a prepaid Card, spending is limited to the amount of money you
load on the Card. Each time you use your Card, the purchase amount is
automatically deducted from your Card balance.You can reload your Card (ie; add
more money to your Card) at any time through any NBAD branch.
Is there a limit to the amount of money I can add (ie; load) to my Prepaid
Card?
The minimum amount needed to load or reload your Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card
is AED 100. The maximum amount that you can load or reload into your Dubai
eGovernment Prepaid Card is AED 5,000.
Do I need to
activate my Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card?
No. There is no need to activate your Dubai eGovernment Card. Once you have
loaded funds into your Card & the bank cashier has given you a receipt your
Card is activated immediately. This means your funds are available for use
instantly.
Can I get cash at an ATM with my Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card?
You can use your Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card to withdraw cash at any ATM
with the Visa logo. Follow the same process that you would with any other
Credit or Debit Card.
Remember that the first time you use the Card on the ATM, you will need to
select a PIN. Later whenever you need to withdraw cash, you simply insert your
Card into the machine and enter your PIN. Select "withdrawal" to make a
withdrawal and enter the amount of cash you want to withdraw. Then take your
cash, Card, and receipt to keep track of your balance. A fee of AED 5 is
applicable on each ATM transaction.
What should I do if my Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card is lost or
stolen?
Report lost or stolen Cards immediately to NBAD by calling toll-free 800 2211
and requesting for your Card to be blocked. You can then re-apply for a new
Dubai eGovernment by visiting any NBAD branch. The blocked balance on the Card
reported lost can then be transferred to your new Dubai eGovernment Prepaid
Card.
How long can I use my Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card?
You can make purchases using your Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card until the
expiration date shown on the Card, or until the value of the Card has been
depleted. Once your balance on your Card has been depleted, you can add more
money to your Card at any NBAD Branch.
What should I do when I have spent the original amount I put on the
Card?
When you have spent the amount you originally loaded on your Dubai eGovernment
Prepaid Card, you can simply visit any NBAD Branch and ‘reload’ your Card. This
simply means adding more money to your Card.
How do I know the balance on my Dubai eGovernment Prepaid Card?
You can check the Card balance on your Dubai eGovernment Card at any NBAD ATM,
by calling the NBAD toll free Call Centre on 800 2211 or through the following
