The Centre of
Ambulance Services (CAS) was restructured under Law No. 17 of 2007 issued by HH
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the
UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
CAS used to be
formerly known as Unified Ambulance Centre in Dubai, which was established
under Law No. 13 of 2006. The present CAS embodies HH Sheikh Mohammed’s desire
to unify the efforts and capabilities of the bodies that render ambulance
services in Dubai, these being Dubai Police General Headquarters and Dubai
Department of Health & Medical Services.
CAS provides
ambulance services in Dubai by taking part in the comprehensive strategic plans
related to ambulance services in Dubai, preparing, developing and applying the
necessary policies towards providing ambulance services in emergency cases and
operating a control centre for ambulance services in the emirate.
The centre is also
tasked with providing patient transporting services and proposing the rules and
regulations that would contribute to improving the standard and quality of
ambulance services in the emirate for all sporting, business and social
activities as well as official events in Dubai.
