There are two
mobile service options available from both etisalat and du, and each depends on your needs/requirements:
standard GSM (post-paid) and pre-paid mobile service. The biggest
difference between the two operators is that du charges by the second, while
etisalat charges per minute usage. Both mobile operators are governed by
Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
Because you pay in
advance for pre-paid, you will always know how much you are spending. Both
operators are also providing iPhone and Blackberry services on monthly payment
plans for citizens and residents. From time to time, both operators also
provide special discount and promotion schemes.
Visitors can also
avail of temporary mobile services. For
etisalat visitor services, see the Ahlan visitor package. For du visitor
services see here.
