All social care professionals in Dubai must obtain a professional license from the Community Development Authority (CDA). Social care professionals include social care workers, special education teachers, therapists and counsellors working in Dubai, including those operating from free zones in Dubai.
To obtain the license which is valid for two years, social care professionals must be graduates with at least one year experience in their specific social service field, while fresh graduates will also be considered for licensing if they have the adequate credentials. To get the license, applicants can submit the eService online request. Applicants will then be interviewed by the licensing committee and if approved, obtain a license which must be renewed after two years. Please note that the license is free for social care professionals.
The CDA is also authorized to license social clubs in Dubai as per Government of Dubai executive resolution No. (4) of 2011. Social clubs are non-profit organizations, groups and associations that demonstrate sustainability and are formed around a common interest to carry out activities such as social, athletic, cultural, artistic, entertainment and all other activities of similar nature that target the public benefit. A Dubai social club license or a renewal costs AED 2,000 and is valid for two years.
