Contacting Dubai Government Officials
It has been Dubai's distinguishing feature to follow an ‘open door’ culture when it comes to facilitating interaction between the Ruler, his government and members of society. The Rulers’ Courts and Majlis used to be the preferred venues frequented by those who needed help and aid. However, with increased demand and the unprecedented population growth, the government has also opened other innovative channels of communication, without abandoning the emirate’s noble culture of listening to the people and satisfying their needs.

Communicating with Dubai Government
Dubai Government officials are rightly proud of their achievements in opening online channels for boosting and streamlining charitable activities. In fact, online activity has now overtaken the conventional manual procedures. Dubai is perhaps one of a few cities of the world where an ordinary man can get online access to any official, right from the topmost person in the hierarchy, the Ruler of the emirate, to any government official.

Submit your ideas and comments to Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Majlis
Launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai in October 2015, the MBR Smart Majlis is a platform that allows everyone to participate in the development of Dubai. It integrates 30+ government entities  to receive suggestions, observations and ideas around the clock from the public, with direct follow-up by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Smart Majlis has 3 sections: The first allows the general public to send their innovative ideas. The second section asks the public to give their feedback on any defects/faults in Dubai's facilities such as roads, parks, beaches etc. The third section is concerned with brainstorming exercises that will be raised by HH Sheikh Mohammed, from time to time, for the public to comment and interact on the issues raised.

At the federal level, government employees can submit their creative ideas to the Afkari initiative and fund, that was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in November 2015. The Afkari fund will finance the most innovative ideas that contribute to developing government services at the ministry/federal level.

Meeting with Dubai Courts Director General
As part of its transparency and to create awareness of Dubai’s legal system, Dubai Courts has a monthly free guided tour for any citizen, resident or visitor to Dubai. Called 'Twitter Visit', the tours take place on the final Wednesday of every month. The tour lasts about two hours and is in Arabic though translations in English or other languages can be made available. The tour includes a visit through the courts, videos, meeting with the Director General of Dubai Courts and with an actual judge. To register for a tour, email pr@dc.gov.ae, follow & tweet on @DubaiCourts, visit the court in person to register, or call Dubai Courts on 04-3030680 during office hours.
