Visiting Dubai for Medical Treatment
A foreigner can visit Dubai for medical treatment under a visit visa with either single-entry or multiple-entry options, valid for 90 or 180 days. In this case, the sponsor or host must be a licensed health facility in the UAE. If the patient requires someone to accompany them, a visa may also be issued to an escort or escorts for 90 or 180 days.
The medical visa requires submitting an approved medical report and a letter from the host explaining the justification for the visit. The applicant must deposit the required financial security.
If an entry visa is granted to a patient’s escort, the escort must enter the UAE together with the patient and must hold an entry visa similar to the patient’s visa (single-entry or multiple-entry). The escort’s visa will not be extended unless the patient’s entry visa is also extended.
In all cases, the visa holder must have medical insurance, and the required financial security deposit must be provided.
