Obtaining A Driver’s License
To obtain a vehicle driving license, a citizen or resident can apply through online channels or by visiting one of the accredited driving institutes to receive training sessions and pass all required tests.
After completing the training requirements for each stage, an appointment is scheduled for the designated test with the Roads and Transport Authority, starting from the theoretical test up to the final test and the issuance of the license.

The eye test
The applicant must pass an eye test according to the requested category at an eye test center accredited by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and authorized by RTA.
Eligibility
The license applicant must not be younger than the legal age specified for each type of vehicle. The minimum age requirement is as follows:
17 years for motorcycles
18 years for light vehicles
20 years for heavy vehicles and tractors
21 years for buses.
License validity
The applicant gets a UAE driving license valid for one year if they are under 21 years old, and for two years if they are 21 or older.
